ANDIPATTI

Residents of Kurudhiammalpuram village in Kovilpatti panchayat in Andipatti block on Tuesday intercepted Deputy Chief Minsiter O. Panneerselvam’s car on Andipatti-Jeyamangalam Road, demanding drinking water to their village.

They said their village was reeling under an acute drinking water crisis as the borewells at the village had dried up. They appealed to Mr. Panneerselvam to include their village in Theni Combined Drinking Water Project. Mr. Pannerselvam asked officials to sink new borewells immediately.

Earlier, he told reporters in Bodi that the Two Leaves symbol of the AIADMK would be retrieved soon. To a question on spread of dengue, he said the government had undertaken massive preventive measures throughout the State.
