Vigil up in The Nilgiris

January 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - UDHAGAMANDALAM:

In the wake of attack on a hotel run by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) at Thirunelli in Wayanad by a group, suspected to be Maoists, in the early hours of Sunday, vigil has been stepped up in The Nilgiris, particularly in the areas bordering Kerala. The attack on the KTDC hotel was in protest against the visit of the President of the United States of America Barack Obama to India.

Police stations along The Nilgiris-Kerala border have been asked to be in a state of constant alert.
