Special veterinary camps will be held in the district on Saturday for the benefit of those who got free milch animals and goats under the government scheme.

People can bring their animals and subject them to various tests in the camp. Infertility checks will be done to milch animals and de-worming will be done to the goats and sheep. People who are not beneficiaries of the government scheme, but own animals, can utilise the camp for treating their animals.

Under the government scheme, 150 milch animals each were distributed in 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, and till December in 2014-15, in the district. With respect to goats, 7,624 were distributed to 1,906 beneficiaries in 2012-13, 10,372 goats to 2,593 beneficiaries, in 2012-13, 11,080 goats to 2,770 beneficiaries in 2013-14 and 6,912 goats to 1,728 till December 2014-15.— Special Correspondent
