VCK demands probe

July 05, 2013 03:15 am | Updated December 04, 2021 11:20 pm IST - CHENNAI:

Viduthalai Chiruthaikal Katchi (VCK) leader Thol Thirumavalavan on Thursday disputed the theory that Ilavarasan had committed suicide out of dejection and demanded a judicial probe by a sitting High Court judge.

He told reporters here that Ilavarasan faced no threat from any quarter and was not under any mental strain to take the extreme step.

“Divya and her family should be kept in a government home to ensure that they are not under any pressure during the period of inquiry,” he said.

Mr. Thirumavalavan also wanted all democratic and political parties to take part in Ilavarasan’s funeral and express solidarity with the vulnerable sections of society.
