Varsity flip-flop on MBBS results

October 14, 2012 12:44 am | Updated October 18, 2016 02:20 pm IST - CHENNAI:

The website of Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University on Saturday posted a notice urging all deans of medical colleges not to start classes for second-year MBBS till the publication of results of the first-year examination.

This is a reversal of last week’s decision, which instructed the deans to admit students to the second year of the course even without the publication of the results.

The reversal, according to the announcement, was to avoid administrative problems and litigation.

Earlier, another announcement on the website said that the publication of results was being postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. “The same will be published within a period of two-three weeks’ time.”
