March 09, 2014 12:19 am | Updated November 16, 2021 06:28 pm IST - CHENNAI:

Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) general secretary Vaiko and senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha will jointly participate in a conference here on Monday on human rights issues in Sri Lanka.

The conference was arranged to coincide with the visit of Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa's to London to take part in the Commonwealth Day celebrations.

Mr. Vaiko is also set to host Mr. Sinha and other State BJP leaders for lunch on Monday, sources said. The meeting assumes significance with talks of a deadlock in seat sharing between the two parties doing rounds.

Sources said the MDMK was likely to be allotted seven seats in the alliance, which included the DMDK and the PMK.
