Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid on Sunday said United Progressive Alliance government was willing for any public scrutiny.
Talking to reporters at the airport here, he said “the government has its own methods of keeping a check on what is happening in the country. But, I have not heard Team Anna ever having said ‘we are willing for a probe'…I don't think they have the right to ask questions and I don't think they are being very helpful and very good to democracy in our country.”
‘Absolutely absurd'
He also termed ‘absolutely absurd,' the Bharatiya Janata Party's demand for seeking resignation of Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, following the Madras High Court recent order that declined to dismiss a petition challenging his election to the Lok Sabha in 2009.
“I think it is an absolutely absurd demand that they make every week, every day that [Mr] Chidambaram should resign…they think the only way they can hurt UPA is by asking him to resign,” he added.
