An unclaimed box with some wires attached to a cell phone triggered panic near a Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) residential area at Ranipet on Tuesday even as police said that it did not appear to be an explosive substance.
Besides the wires and cell phone, some ‘powdery substance’ was found in the box, which the experts were examining.
Prima facie the object did not seem to be an explosive substance, Vellore SP Vijayakumar said.
