United Business Media (UBM) India will organise IFSEC South India (South Indian edition of the International Fire and Security Exhibition and Conference) in Bangalore from June 1 to 3, 2011.

Project Director of UBM Nigel Luke Brown told presspersons here on Wednesday that the company was organising IFSEC in India from 2007. The South Indian edition would have 120 participants, including 25 direct international participants. It would attract about 5,000 trade visitors.

The event would be held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre. There would be several international companies participating through their Indian offices.

The event would be an opportunity for security industry representatives to see the new technologies.

The exhibition would have security, fire and building management systems and solutions that could be used in industries, houses and public infrastructure structures. Mr. Brown said the fire and security systems in the country had a market of about Rs. 5,000 crore.

This included the products, software, cables and panels. Nearly 90 per cent of the products were imported.Several cities in the country were going through surveillance projects and hence the demand for these was increasing. UBM organised as many as 16 exhibitions in India annually in 29 industrial verticals.
