Two youths hand over ₹2 lakh found at bus stand to police

Two youths handed over `2 lakh wrapped in paper, which was missed by a person at the central bus stand here, to the police, and they were honoured by Superintendent of Police M. Baskaran, according to a press release issued here on Thursday.

The honoured were T. Raj Kumar (26) of Mullai Nagar in Aranmanaipudhur and S.P. Kumar (26) of Forest Road in Theni.

The duo found the cash at the two-wheeler parking bay at the bus stand a few days ago, and handed it over to the police immediately.

Initially, the police did not receive any complaint in this connection. On Wednesday, S. Veerakamu (59) of Azhagapuri in Periyakulam came to the police claiming that he missed the cash at the central bus stand.

After verification, the police handed over the cash to Mr. Veerakamu, and honoured Mr. Raj Kumar and Mr. Kumar.
