Students killed in accident
Two students were killed on the spot after the motorcycle they were travelling was hit by a lorry near Samathuvapuram in Hosur here on Monday.
The police said that R. Madhu alias Venugopal (19) and his friend P. Manojkumar (19), both of Denkanikottai were pursuing second year diploma in a private polytechnic college in Hosur. On Monday, both were on their way to Hosur from Bagalur. While nearing Samathuvapuram, a tanker lorry hit their vehicle. In the impact, both were thrown on the road and sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. The police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the lorry driver.
