Two school students killed in road accident

Two Plus Two students were killed on the spot when they were caught under the wheels of a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation bus while reportedly trying to overtake it near Kaliyakkavilai on Wednesday.

Police said Srijith and Shine, both from Mandampalai near here, had gone to the school very early and taken the two-wheeler of a friend for a ride.

The duo reportedly attempted to overtake the bus, but fell between the wheels of the bus and were run over.

Immediately after the accident, the bus driver fled from the spot, eye witnesses said.

Palugal police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the bus driver.

The death of the students cast of a pall of gloom on the school and their residential colony.
