Two were killed and two others critically injured when their motorbikes were involved in a road accident near here on Sunday night.
Police said that B. Senthil (24) and his friend K. Selvamani (25), both belonging to Sorakkudi near Nannilam in Tiruvarur district, were returning home from Tiruvarur when their bike rammed another one on which Nripen Chakrborty and Michael Raj of Tirukuvalai in Nagapattinam district were travelling at Vandampalayam under the impact of which Senthil and Selvamani were thrown off their bike, hit a roadside tree and fell dead.
Nripen Chakraborty and Michael Raj were severely injured and were rushed to the Medical College Hospital here.
The Nannilam police have registered a case and are investigating.
