Tribals threaten to boycott election

April 14, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - NAMAKKAL:

Stating that tar-topped roads for their village were a long demand that remain unfilled, tribals of Valkulipatti threatened to boycott the Assembly election.

Over 200 families are residing in the tribal hamlet located in Kolli Hills.

For a long time, their hamlet lacks road facility and despite submitting many petitions to the district administration, road was not laid.

They said that they move on foot to all the places due to the absence of roads. They came to the collectorate with family cards and electoral identity card and threatened to surrender it.

They met the officials and informed them that they will boycott the election if road facility is not created.
