Trekking expedition for police personnel conducted

Sumit Saran, Commissioner of Police, led the entire Armed Reserve Force attached to the City Police, on a trekking expedition to the hill station of Yercaud on Saturday.

Mobilisation camp

The expedition was part of the annual mobilisation camp for the Armed Reserve police personnel.

The women police personnel, too, formed part of the force which participated in the expedition, along with Assistant Commissioners of Police Nagaraj (Armed Reserve) and Manivannan (intelligence section).

The expedition is to ensure the physical fitness and endurance of the officers and personnel of the AR Force.

The three-week-long mobilisation camp is to relieve the stress in the personnel and help them maintain the tempo.

Physical training, besides sessions on yoga, handling weapons, mob operation, first aid, and unarmed combat are provided at the camp in progress at present.

The mobilisation camp will continue till February 14, police sources said.
