Girl killed in road accident

A two-wheeler rider died on the spot after she came under the wheels of a mini bus on Tiruchengode Road here on Saturday. The deceased has been indentified as Niranja of Palaniandi Street. The girl, who had scored 1,142 marks in the Plus-Two board examinations, was on her way to school on a two-wheeler to get her mark sheets. Her mother Megala was riding pillion. While nearing the daily market road, Niranja lost control of the vehicle and fell down. She came under the wheels of a mini bus that was coming behind and died on the spot. Megala escaped unhurt. The body was taken to the District Government Headquarters Hospital.
