The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has cancelled the selection of 73 candidates for the TNPSC Group I (2011-2012).

Speaking to mediapersons on Friday, TNPSC Chairman A. Navaneethakrishnan said: “On verification of certificates, it is found that there are changes in eligibility status of 95 candidates.”

TNPSC had released a list of 1330 selected candidates for the Group I mains on May 16. As a number of such provisionally selected candidates were not eligible for the examination, TNPSC had to revise the list, increasing the number of candidates to 1391.

The revised list, released on Friday, has an additional 134 candidates who will appear for the Group I mains examination on September 27, 28 and 29. The examinations will be held in Chennai. The provisionally selected candidates have to upload documents online and send required documents by registered post by August 26. The selection of candidates who fail to send the documents by August 26 will be cancelled. TNPSC had conducted the Group I preliminary examination on February 16 for filling up 25 vacancies for the posts included in the Group I services.
