Re-organisation of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) into three entities stands irrespective of the outcome of litigation on the matter, Electricity Minister Arcot N. Veerasamy told the Assembly on Tuesday.

Answering a query of Congress legislator E.S.S. Raman during Question Hour, he said that steps had been initiated for the transfer of Board employees to the entities. Some unions had challenged the move in court.

When Ghayathri Devi (Congress) wanted to know the share of Central and State governments in the Emergency Ambulance Service 108 Scheme, Health Minister M.R. K. Paneerselvam said that in the last three years, nearly Rs.144 crore was spent, of which the State's share was Rs.78 crore and that of the Centre, Rs.66 crore.

L. Velusamy (Pattali Makkal Katchi) wanted the government to conduct awareness camps on the Right to Information Act in rural areas and include the law in the school and college curriculum.

Responding to this, Law Minister Durai Murugan gave an account of steps taken by the government to propagate the features of the law.
