TNEB expected to draw Rs.3,826 crore from REC

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) is expected to draw Rs.3,826 crore from the Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) this year for various generation, transmission & distribution (T&D) and Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) schemes.

This was indicated by the TNEB to the REC during the Annual Works Programme meeting held here last week, according to a press release issued by the REC.

Of the proposed amount, about Rs.1,800-2,000 crore would be spent by the Electricity Board for the R-APDRP Scheme.

C.P. Singh, Chairman of the TNEB and Guljit Kapur, Director of the REC were among those who attended the meeting.
