: Even though he called DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin a “hard worker” and described him as being “well-qualified for an elevation,” party leader M. Karunanidhi said in politics and governance, nothing could move in a set time frame.
“The dynamics of yesterday’s happenings, today's changes and tomorrow’s developments decides everything. It is history that neither Periyar nor Anna or I reached the next level in our career by fixing a time frame,” he told The Hindu .
Stating that no one could prevent the DMK from coming to power, the 93-year-old leader asserted that people of Tamil Nadu would not favour a coalition government. He also rejected the suggestion that even those who were completely disenchanted with the ruling AIADMK could not bring themselves to vote for the DMK because they were unhappy with his previous regime (between 2006 and 2011).
“We fulfilled all the promises made in the election manifesto for 2006 and improved the State’s socio-economic conditions,” he said.
