With the Tamil Nadu Government seeking more time to file its counter to a GAIL India Ltd’s petition challenging its direction to lay a natural gas pipeline along the National Highways, the Madras High Court on Thursday posted the matter for August 6.

Earlier, the court had granted an interim injunction restraining the State Government from taking any coercive action to remove the pipeline already laid by the company in the State.

Under the project, a pipeline is to be laid for distribution of natural gas from Kochi terminal to Bangalore.
