The Governor and leaders of various political parties expressed their condolence over the death of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy.
Governor Surjit Singh Barnala in his message to Rajasekhara Reddy’s wife said that he was deeply shocked and grieved about the untimely death of her husband, who championed the cause of the rural poor. He was a leader of the masses and was known for rich acumen and for his schemes for the rural farmers and the poor. The promising life of a people’s leader had been cut shot by the unkind hands of fate. His death was an irreparable loss to India and to Andhra Pradesh in particular.
The Governor also conveyed his sincere condolences to his wife and other bereaved members of his family.
The AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa said the tragic demise of Dr.YSR was a great loss to the Congress party. She conveyed her condolences to his wife and to all members of the family. She also expressed her heart-felt condolences to the families of four others who also died in the accident.
On behalf of the TNCC, a condolence meeting was organised at the party headquarters Satyamurthi Bhavan here where party president K.V.Thangkabalu, Congress Legislature party leader D.Sudharssanam and party workers offered floral tributes to the portrait of Dr.Reddy.
The PMK leader S.Ramadoos said that the death of Dr Reddy was a loss not only to Andhra Pradesh but to the whole country. He was a Chief Minister with long-term vision, who was particular in getting welfare schemes reach the poor and the downtrodden.
The MDMK general secretary Vaiko said Dr.Reddy was responsible for rejuvenating the Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh. By his service to society, he earned the goodwill of the people in the State.
The CPI(M) state secretary N.Varadarajan, the CPI State secretary D.Pandian, Dravidar Kazhagam president K.Veeramani, Akila India Samathuva Makkal Katchi president Sarathkumar, the Church of South India and Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali also condoled the death of Dr.Reddy and offered their condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of their respective parties.
