T.K. Rajendran replaces Jaffer Sait

His name was cleared from a panel of three names

The Election Commission on Tuesday cleared the name of Additional Director-General of Police (Administration) T.K. Rajendran to be appointed as the Additional DGP (Intelligence) in the place of M.S. Jaffer Sait, whose leave till May 15 has been approved by the Commission.

A top Election Commission official, confirming this, added that Mr. Rajendran's name was cleared from the panel of three names sent to the Commission by the Tamil Nadu government.

The other officers who were on the panel were: Additional DGP (Headquarters) Sanjeev Kumar and Additional DGP (Enforcement) C.K. Gandhirajan.

State informed

The Election Commission 's decision has been conveyed to the State Chief Secretary and the Chief Electoral Officer for issuing necessary order, sources said.

A 1984-batch direct recruit IPS officer, 53-year old Mr. Rajendran had served in various capacities in the senior hierarchy of the intelligence wing of the State police.
