Three wild animals were found dead in different parts of The Nilgiris on Thursday.

Forest Department sources said that the carcass of a male leopard aged about three to four months was found at Kodamalai near Coonoor.

A post-mortem examination by forest veterinarian N. S. Manoharan revealed that it had died in a fight with a porcupine.

The carcass of a male gaur was found inside a well at Adar Estate.

While moving with its herd the animal had fallen into the well, which was not covered properly.

A male sloth bear was found dead in the Sigur range of The Nilgiris North forest division. It had died in a fight with another bear.
