The police also recovered 50 sovereigns of gold, a car, three two-wheelers, six television sets, seven laptops, 10 DVD players, six digital cameras and other electronic gadgets from them, police sources said.

In the wake of a series of house break-ins reported with Palayamkottai and Perumalpuram police, a special team was formed on the orders of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Tirunelveli City, T.P. Twenty five cases of house break-ins had been reported since 2011 and a total of 84 sovereigns of gold were reportedly stolen.
