Three killed in road accident on ECR

Three persons were killed and another one sustained minor injuries in a road accident on East Coast Road near Thiruvidanthai on Monday night.

According to police, the mishap took place around 45-minutes past mid-night as the speeding car driven by Surferoz (26) of Kilpauk Gardens, Chennai hit a roadside overhead power supply cable post. In the impact, the live power supply cable fell on the vehicle resulting in a fire. Luckily Surferoz was thrown out of the car as soon as it hit the post.

The other three occupants of the car - Karthik (26) of Mint, Janakaraj (25) of Anna Nagar (East) and Nagendran (24) of Ambattur - were charred to death. The deceased persons and the driver were returning to Chennai after attending a function at Chidambaram, police said.
