Three youths were killed, two on the spot, when a car dashed against a roadside tree at Nallur village, near Veeraganur, on Saturday evening.
A group of youngsters were proceeding to the hill station of Kollimalai in Namakkal district from Perambalur in the car on the occasion of Kaanum Pongal, when the incident took place.
S. Dinesh (20) of Thittakudi in Cuddalore district, and E. Sundar (25) of Alangudi near Thittakudi, were killed on the spot.
Four persons suffered injuries and were rushed to Government headquarters hospital, Perambalur, where Gopalakrishnan (17) of Perambalur, succumbed.
