Three persons, including a lorry driver, were killed when the vehicle in which they were travelling fell into a tank bund near Tiruppattur around midnight on Wednesday.
The lorry was bound for Mathur from Vaniyambadi to transport chicken. When the lorry neared the bund of the Kakkangarai Yeri, an irrigation tank, driver Balaji (21) lost control of the vehicle. Balaji , workers Shameer Ahamed (24) and Munir Basha (23) of Vaniyambadi were killed on the spot. Two others in the lorry escaped with minor injuries. The Kandili police have registered a case.
