Three killed as lorry collides with 2-wheeler

Three persons were killed on the spot when a speeding lorry rammed the two-wheeler they were riding at Saram near Tindivanam on Sunday night. The deceased were identified as Gowtham (23), Vinayagavel (24) and Saravanan (23) of Villupuram.

According to police, the accident took place at around 11.30 p.m. The trio were going from Villupuram to Acharapakkam. At Saram, the motorcycle was hit by a speeding lorry going towards Chennai.

In the impact the three were thrown off the motorcycle and came under the wheels of the lorry. The police have registered a case and launched a search for the lorry driver who is absconding. Further investigations are on.
