Three, including child,killed in accident

Three persons, including a child, who were thrown off a two-wheeler were killed on the spot and another child was injured when the vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a taxi near Annavasal in Pudukottai district on Monday.

The incident occurred when the four were returning home at Mudhalipatti village after attending a temple festival at Vayalogam. A taxi, going from Manapparai to Pudukottai, was involved in the collision.

Police identified the dead as K. Ayyadurai (40) who was riding the motorcycle; M. Veeriah (65); and his grandson K. Sivabalan. His another grandchild, K. Ruba, who was injured, was admitted to the Government Headquarters Hospital in Pudukottai.

The police have registered a case and are investigating.
