Three arrested for murder

The rural police on Thursday arrested three members of a family on charge of murdering a youth here.

The police said that Anbazhagan (25) of Thalaivasal, a fourth year engineering student, had a dispute with Angamuthu (49) of the same area while they were on a picnic.

On May 23, Anbazhagan went to the house of Angamuthu and altercation broke between them. Angamuthu assaulted Anbazhagan with a wooden log resulting in head injuries. Anbazhagan was admitted to Government Hospital in Attur and later to Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital. But he died on Thursday. Thalaivasal police altered the sections as murder and arrested Angamuthu, his wife Selvi (44) and daughter Gowthami (19), a college student.
