Over 7,000 candidates wrote Teachers Recruitment Board’s competitive exam in the district on Saturday for the 1,807 post-graduate teacher posts in the government schools across the State. As many as 7,246 candidates took the three-hour-long exam in 22 centres across the district on Saturday though 7,754 persons had applied. Police had been deployed in front of all examination centres.
Tuticorin
As many as 3,465 candidates appeared for the TRB examination held in Tuticorin district on Saturday. The candidates wrote the exam in eleven centres set up in various parts of the district. Among them, seventy nine were differently abled, sources said. Nineteen visually challenged also took the exam with the assistance of scribes. The district administration had made necessary arrangements. Collector M. Ravikumar inspected the arrangements at St. Mary’s Boys Higher Secondary School in Tuticorin. Additional buses were operated for the benefit of the candidates.
