T. Kevinston, a student of St. La Salle Higher Secondary School in Thoothukudi, gets another opportunity to compete in the international beach volleyball tournament.

Born in a fisherman’s family at Lions Town here, he earned praise after bagging the bronze medal in under-17 category at the ‘ISF World Schools Championship Beach Volleyball’ held at Aracaju in Brazil in 2015 when he was 15.

Taking pride in representing India at fourth international title, he did not rest on his laurels but was optimistic of striking gold this time in the upcoming under-19 category of the ‘ISF World Schools Championship Beach Volleyball’ at French Polynesia in France.

The tournament would begin on May 27 and conclude on June 3.

On Tuesday, he recalled that he had played for Tamil Nadu in the All India Beach Volleyball Tournament at Nagapattinam in January after beating New Delhi in semi-finals and Goa in the finals.
