Modern anaesthesia workstation

A modern anaesthesia workstation has been installed at Government Theni Medical College on Friday. It has ventilator to facilitate use for a prolonged period.

It prevents wastage of gases such as oxygen and nitrous oxide.

It has a sensor to assess the exact amount of oxygen delivered to the patient. The monitor has wave form display to show the rhythm of gas delivered to the patient.

When the patient’s weight is entered, it will calculate the required gas to be delivered, according to a release issued by Dean M. Raja Muthiah here on Friday.
