Tiruchi and Perambalur Collectors won two awards each at the conference of Collectors and Superintendents of Police presided by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

The first prize for efficient disposal of Chief Minister’s Special Cell petitions for 2012 was bagged by Jayashree Muralidharan, Tiruchi; Darez Ahamed, Perambalur and S. Natarajan, Thiruvarur. Second place – Anshul Mishra, Madurai, and S. Jagannathan, Namakkal. Third place – C. Samayamoorthy, Tirunelveli, and K. Bhaskaran, Thanjavur.

For SPs under the same category, S. Xavier Dhanaraj of Thiruvarur, P. Kannamal, Namakkal, and N. Bhaskaran of Villupuram bagged the first three places respectively. Sanjay Mathur, Madurai Police Commissioner, was placed first in the same category.

Among the heads of department under the same category, Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Project Director, Tamil Nadu Health Systems; B. Chandramohan, MD, Metrowater, Chennai, and Vikram Kapur, Chennai Corporation Commissioner, were placed first, second and third respectively.

Perambalur Collector Darez Ahamed, Ariyalur (former) district Collector Anu George and Kanyakumari Collector S. Nagarajan got the certificate and medal as best performing collectors in the health sector.

Tiruchi Collector Jayashree Muralidharan, Salem Collector K. Maharabhushanam, Karur (former) Collector V. Shobana and Krishnagiri (former) Collector C.N. Maheswaran won the Green Award.

Nagapattinam Collector T. Munusamy won the award for distinguished service to the welfare of the differently abled.

The Dharmapuri Collector, R. Lilly, bagged the award for distinguished service in eradication of child labour.
