A teenager reportedly stabbed a girl at Udayendram near Vaniyambadi on Monday evening. The girl sustained injuries on the chest, abdomen and hip and is undergoing treatment at the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital (GVMCH) in Adukkamparai.
According to the police, the boy was reportedly in love with the 19-year-old girl, a first year college student in Vaniyambadi. They were residents of Udayendram. The girl’s father, on knowing about the relationship, had warned her. Following this, she stopped talking to the boy. Angered over this, the boy stabbed the girl, when she was returning home from college at 4.30 p.m. on Monday, at Udayendram. He stabbed her at four to five places on the chest, abdomen and hip, police said.
The girl was rushed to theVaniyambadi GH and then referred to GVMCH. Police attached to Vaniyambadi Taluk station said the boy was absconding. A case has been filed and a search was on to nab him.
