A software engineer at a company in Egattur, near Navalur on the outskirts of Chennai, was found dead on her office premises on Wednesday.
According to the police, the deceased, Mercy Sathyarani (25) of Virugambakkam, had joined the company in 2009 and was working as an associate consultant. On Wednesday afternoon, she was last seen talking over her mobile phone on the terrace of her office building. Around 4.30 p.m., she was found lying in a pool of blood near the main building, presumably after having fallen from the terrace.
The emergency ambulance crew summoned by the company, declared her dead. The body was moved to Chengalpattu Medical College hospital, Chengalpattu, for post-mortem, the police said.
The Kelambakkam police have registered a case of death under suspicious circumstances and are investigating.
