TAMIN gets e-governance award

Tamil Nadu Minerals Limited (TAMIN) received the national award for e-governance at the 18th national e-governance conference held at Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat last week.

‘Silver’ rated award

It is a ‘Silver’ rated award under one of the 12 categories in which awards are given, namely “Innovative use of Information Communication Technology by State government Public Sector Units/ Cooperatives / Federations/ Societies”.

The award is given to TAMIN for developing Quarry Management System (QMS).

According to a press release issued on Tuesday by the Information and Public Relations Office, Tiruvannamalai on Tuesday, cameras were fixed in the quarries and mines of TAMIN under the QMS that enabled the public sector company to effectively monitor its facilities from its head office that helped it prevent wrong doings.

M.Vallalar, Managing Director of TAMIN, received the award from Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel.
