BJP’s State unit president Tamilisai Soundararajan and Congress’ national spokesperson Khushbu Sundar had a war of words on Wednesday evening over the BJP’s “recruitment” tactics.

The issue began with Ms. Sundar tweeting her response to a statement by Ms. Soundararajan welcoming actor Rajinikanth’s proposed entry into politics and maybe, even the BJP.

The Congress leader said that people should join political parties for their ideology and added that she had joined the Congress of her own volition.

Ms. Sundar claimed that the BJP has been “begging right left n centre (sic.)” to convince leaders to join, telling Ms. Soundararajan, “I made the right decision when I c u.”

Ms. Soundararajan responded recalling that Ms. Sundar had left the DMK to join the Congress “on what ideology? Everyone knows.”

Ms. Sundar responded saying: “Rework ur brains a bit Mam..I tuk the leap in2 Congress gud 6 mnths after quitting #DMK ..how abt u lapping up ppl who quit Congress sme day?”

It turned personal when Ms. Soundararajan mentioned her training as a medical doctor, who specialises in scanning, and implied that she knew Ms. Sundar’s reasons for leaving the DMK.

Ms. Sundar responded to the claim saying, “Mam, clear my doubts pls..u specialise as a psychiatrist or as a gen.physician? N i alwz thght Docs hve 2 meet their patients 2 read dem.”

The conversation ended only on Thursday morning, when Ms. Sundar responded to a follower’s tweet saying, “..I respect her as a woman n a senior person..n my views r from the other side of the fence..no personal hard feelings.”
