Tamil Nadu on Friday joined rest of the nation in paying rich tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who was assassinated at Sriperumbudur near here, on his 19th death anniversary.
Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi paid floral tributes to the late prime minister at army parade ground in the Secretariat complex and administered anti-terrorism pledge to his cabinet colleagues and government employees, as the day is also observed as anti-terrorism day.
K. Vivekanandan, Deputy Secretary to the Governor, also administered an anti-terrorism pledge to the officers and staff at the Raj Bhavan.
