Tamil Nadu interim budget tomorrow

The interim budget of the Tamil Nadu government will be presented here tomorrow by Finance Minister K Anbazhagan.

Mr. Anbazhagan is scheduled to present the DMK government’s last budget in its current term as the State heads for Assembly polls due in May.

The House, which met here today, was adjourned for the day after paying homage to Chengam MLA, Polur M Varadan, who died last week.

Speaker R Avudiyappan moved a resolution and the House observed two minutes’ silence in respect of the departed Congress MLA.

Later, speaking to reporters after chairing the Business Advisory Committee meeting, Mr. Avudaiyappan said the Budget Session will be on till February 10.

General discussion will be held on the Budget from Feb 7 and the reply on February 10, he said.
