Tamil Nadu Govt announces Kalaimamani awards

Kollywood actors Arya, Anushka and Tamannah will be the recipients of the 2010 ’Kalaimamani’ awards announced by the Tamil Nadu Government.

Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would present the awards at a function here on February 13, an official press release said.

Noted cinematographer Rajiv Menon, Comedian Karunaas and Chinni Jeyanth would also be presented the awards, it said.

Veena artistes Rajesh Vaidya and Srinivasan have also been selected for the award. Television actors Sakshi Siva and “Poovilangu” Mohan, actresses Revathi Sankaran, Rohini, Saranya and Malavika, were also selected for the awards.

Television soap Director Thirumurugan, Music Director Bharatwaj, TV artists “Robo” Shankar, carnatic vocalist Gayathri Sankaran, Gayathri Girish and V Narayana Perumal were among otherse selected.

‘Dindigul’ I Liyoni, carnatic vocalist T V Gopalakrishnan and playback singer Kalyani Menon would also receive the awards from Karunanidhi, the statement added.
