The State government on Saturday shifted six district collectors, most of whom were in southern districts. Four of the Collectors — Jayashree Muralidharan (Tiruchi), K.S. Palanisamy (Theni), V. Rajaraman (Sivaganga) and T. Munusamy (Nagapattinam) — have completed more than three years of office. The other two — N. Venkatachalam (Dindigul) and T.N. Hariharan (Virudhunagar) — have served over two and a half years.

While Ms. Muralidharan has been made Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS), Dr. Palanisamy will succeed her as Tiruchi Collector. Mr. Rajaraman will move to Virudhunagar whose incumbent, Mr. Hariharan, will go to Dindigul.  Mr. Venkatachalam has been shifted to Theni and Mr. Munusamy will replace Mr. Rajaraman as Sivaganga Collector.

S. Palanisamy, who currently holds the post of Deputy Secretary in the School Education Department, has been posted as Nagapattinam Collector. R. Kirlosh Kumar, now RCS, has been transferred as Director of Town and Country Planning.
