Tahsildar of Nallampalli along with two other revenue staff were arrested under graft charges by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption sleuths at the taluk office on Friday.
The tahsildar of Nallampalli Miller (42), along with Revenue Inspector of Palayanpudur Kavitha (40) and tahsildar’s assistant Senthil (30), were caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs.10,000 from the complainant M. Munusamy.
According to the complaint, M. Munusamy, son of Manickam was seeking relief under the Social Protection Scheme in the wake of the death of his father Manickam in an accident.
Following this, Munusamy had contacted Miller for inclusion as beneficiary under the scheme. However, Miller had demanded a bribe of Rs.10,000.
Munusamy had lodged a complaint with the DVAC, and a trap was laid. The three accused were caught taking the bribe.
A team led by vigilance inspector Krishnaraj led the arrest.
