Swine flu: three, including two children, hospitalised

Three persons including two children of a nurse, who is undergoing treatment at the Kanyakumari Government Medical College Hospital (KGMCH), were tested positive with H1N1 infection, said Medical Superintendent M. Radhakrishnan here on Saturday.

All the three were admitted to the isolated ward at KGMCH. The adult who tested H1N1 positive was a guest at the nurse’s house. A team of doctors was constantly monitoring the health of the persons affected by swine flu. The nurse was tested positive on Thursday and was admitted to the ward immediately.

The nurse was responding well to the treatment and would be discharged in a day or two, sources said.As many as six persons, including a college student were treated for H1N1 at the KGMCH in the recent past. As a precautionary measure, it was decided to administer swine flu vaccination to all the staff at KGMCH, Dr. Radhakrishnan added.
