Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Saturday asked the State government to desist from any attempt to permit LTTE leader Prabhakaran's mother back into the country.

In a statement, Dr. Swamy said he would challenge it in the courts if any such attempt was made. As Ms. Parvathiammal was yet to condemn the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by her son, she had not yet reformed and hence was not entitled for reconsideration of her expulsion.

Allowing Prabhakaran's mother to visit would be in conflict with the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and make the Tamil Nadu Government criminally culpable, he warned.
