Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) will operate special summer tour packages to various hill stations in the State for two months from April 14 onwards.
A TTDC press release issued here on Tuesday said that four days' rail-cum-road tours will be operated to Udhagamandalam and Kodaikanal from Chennai. The tour will commence on Wednesdays and end on Sundays.
For the Udhagamandalam trip, tourists will be taken to Coimbatore by Cheran Express and to Udhagamandalam by road. Per person charge for the trip is Rs.4,200 and for children it is Rs.3,700.
Similarly, tourists will be taken to Madurai through Podhigai Express and thereafter by road to Kodaikanal. Per person charge for the trip is Rs.4,300 and for children it is Rs.3,800. The fare includes sleeper class rail fare, accommodation facility for two days, vegetarian food, entrance fee to tourist spots and guide services.
TTDC will operate three-day road tours to Udhagamandalam (Rs.2,500), Kodaikanal (Rs.2,400), Yercaud (Rs.1,850), Mysore-Bangalore (Rs.2,150) and Munnar (Rs.2,950). The non-A/c coach will leave Chennai on Fridays and return on Mondays.
The tourists will be provided vegetarian food for two days, permission to enter tourist spots, a day accommodation facility and guide services. Only accommodation facilities will be provided at Munnar.
