Summer festival at Yelagiri

SDAT to organise series of events on May 19 and 20

The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, Vellore, will be conducting a series of events during the summer festival at Yelagiri Hills on May 19 and 20.

According to a press release, it will be conducting marathon, volley ball, ‘kabadi,’ tug of war and boat race for men and women.

The events are open to all and will have no age limit.

Volley ball and ‘kabadi’ will be held at 8.30 a.m. on May 19 at the Government Higher Secondary School, Athanoor for men and women. Boat race will be held at 11 a.m. at the Yelagiri lake.

Marathon

A 14-kilometre-long marathon will be held on May 20 from Yatri Nivas-Mangalam-Yatri Nivas for men and from Yatri Nivas-Mangalam Koot Road-Yatri Nivas for women. It will start at 7 a.m. for men and at 8 a.m. for women.

A tug-of-war will be held near the summer festival stage at 11.30 a.m. on May 20.
