Sudhakaran appears before special court

V.N. Sudhakaran, once a foster son of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, appeared on Tuesday before Principal Judge of Special Court for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act cases in connection with the trial in a criminal case against him. Mr. Sudhakaran is facing the charge of illegal possession of heroin in 2001.

C. Chinnappan, Principal Judge of Special Court for NDPS Cases, asked him and other accused whether the charges against them were true. Mr. Sudhakaran and the others, Baskaran and Moinudeen, said that the charges framed against them were false. The Judge adjourned the case to July 25 for producing defence witnesses.
