Tamil Nadu’s Industrial growth hit, alleges Elangovan

"Corruption, power cut and poor infrastructure have crippled the growth"

February 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 07:52 am IST - CHENNAI:

TNCC president EVKS Elangovan on Sunday alleged that corruption, power cut and poor infrastructure had crippled the industrial growth of the State even though it had created record in producing more number of engineering graduates.

In a statement here, he said Tamil Nadu, which used to occupy the fifth place in the list of industrialised State, was now demoted to the 18th place as industrialists were not ready to invest in the State.

“While the former Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, is facing court cases, the present Chief Minister, O. Panneerselvam, was helpless and the situation has severely affected the State,” he said.
